Language Groups: I AM FROM

I AM FROM

I am from Katharine and Adrian.
I am from a rock concert.

I am from rain and hail then sun and lightening.
I am from unpredictable weather.

I am from people thinking im Irish,
from people stereotyping the Scottish.
I am from Scotland.

I am from a small village in the country,
I am from a small village harbouring terrorists!

I am from a place where Scotland won't
"Stand for this shit!" :)

  1. I love this line "I am from unpredictable weather." I am from a similar place!
In these lines, "I am from people thinking im Irish,/ from people stereotyping the Scottish./ I am from Scotland" I can only imagine how wearing attitudes like that must be. People are people, we each have our customs, but you can't cast us as all the same in all things always.
In the lines where you mentioned your village, it made me wonder what "terrorists" were harboured? Is this an inside joke, or was this an ordeal that happened?
I really like the closing line--I think it describes a strong attitude that speaks to self-respect, which I admire.
Your poem has spunk to it, and it made me smile--I could hear you in it!

Thank you for sharing yourself in this poem.
